BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad has welcomed the judgement saying it is a matter of assurance.
New Delhi: A Delhi court on Tuesday sentenced alleged Indian Mujahideen operative Shahzad Ahmed to life imprisonment in the 2008 Batla House encounter. He has been held guilty with the murder of the slain police officer Mohan Chand Sharma and injuring two constables.
Inspector Sharma's wife Maya said life imprisonment was not enough for him. "He was a terrorist who killed a policeman, I think life imprisonment for him is not enough," she said
The case also led to political controversies. BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad has welcomed the judgement saying it is a matter of assurance. "Those who questioned the veracity of the encounter, this judgment is a befitting reply," he said.
