BERHAMPUR: Normal life was hit in Kodala town for the seventh consecutive day on Tuesday with people putting up road blocks around the town. They stuck to their guns on shifting members of Eregola community outside the town which has been turned down by District Collector Kishan Kumar. The Collector said even as there are no chances of shifting the community, steps are being taken to constitute peace committees in all the villages surrounding Kodala to restore normalcy. He added that some people with vested interests are trying to float rumours in the area that the administration was planning to shift the Eregola community to Buguda or elsewhere. “These rumours are baseless,” he said. Claiming that the situation was under control, the Collector said that normalcy would soon be restored in Kodala.
