The interactive DVDs to help students grasp English language at the lower primary level, a novel initiative in the Indian context prepared by the State Council of Educational and Research and Training (SCERT), will be released on September 25.
The DVDs are coming out with animation films, digital versions of the textbooks and interactive activities for happy learning for students of classes I and II.
Minister for Education P K Aburabb will release the DVD at a function to be held at Government TTI, Manacaud, Thiruvanthapuram by handing over a copy to Minister for Health V S Shivakumar.
SCERT research officer K T Dinesh will introduce the DVD while Thiruvananthapuram Mayor K Chandrika will deliver the keynote address.
The DVDs would benefit nearly eight lakh students in the 11,000 schools and 200 multi-grade learning centres (MGLCs) in the state.
A team of 15 teachers across the state prepared the screenplay and story board of DVDs with the technical support of the Centre for Development of Imaging Technology (C-DIT).
