THRISSUR: Vinu, 33, of Idukki, who was imprisoned at Viyyur Central Jail on theft charges, was forcibly fed the vomit and spew of an inebriated head warden at the jail on Saturday. An internal ivestigation was conducted and the jail authorities held the warden, Vincent, responsible for the torture. He was transferred to the open jail in Cheemeni on Tuesday. When Vinu was brought to jail from a court on Saturday evening, Vincent approached Vinu and instructed him to eat his vomit and spew. When Vinu refused to do so, he was beaten black and blue by the warden and forcibly fed vomit, sources close to the jail authorities revealed. After the incident, Vinu’s relatives filed a complaint with ADGP (Jail) Alexander Jacob seeking action against those involved in the torture. The ADGP directed the jail DGP on Monday to transfer the accused warden to Cheemeni open jail. Another warden, Vidyadharan, accused of selling liquor inside the jail has also been transferred to Cheemeni.
