Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as part of his 11-day ‘Anushthan’ ahead of the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony on January 22, will visit a third temple associated with Lord Ram in Kerala on Wednesday.

He first visited Panchvati in Nashik last Friday where it is believed that Lord Ram made a hut and stayed during his exile. The prime minister listened to the ‘Yudh Kanda’ in Panchvati about the return of Lord Ram to Ayodhya.

On Tuesday, he was in Andhra Pradesh’s Lepakshi where it is believed that Jatayu fell after being killed by Ravana. Here, the prime minister heard Ranganatha Ramayan in Telugu.

On Wednesday, PM Modi will visit the Thriprayar Shree Ramaswami Temple in Kerala. He may visit a few more places connected to Lord Ram over the next few days.

As part of his ‘Anushthan’, PM Modi is on a limited fast — one meal a day — since Friday. From January 19, he may have only fruits during the day. He will fast on the day of the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ in Ayodhya and sleep on the floor on a wooden plank with a blanket on it.

With less than a week left for the much-awaited consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple, PM Modi on Tuesday said the entire country is ‘Rammay’ nowadays.

On January 12, the prime minister began observing all rituals and ‘niyams’ of an 11-day ‘Anushthan’ (ritual) ahead of the mega event in Ayodhya.

“Only 11 days are left for the consecration of Ramlala in Ayodhya. I am fortunate that I will also be a witness to this auspicious occasion. The Lord has made me an instrument to represent all the people of India during the consecration. Keeping this in mind, I am starting a special ritual of 11 days from today. I am seeking blessings from all the people. At this moment, it is very difficult to express my feelings in words, but I have tried from my side…” the prime minister wrote in an X post.

Earlier in the week, in a special audio message, PM Modi said he would represent all Indians in Ayodhya and was fortunate to be a part of the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ which was the result of a 500-year-long patient struggle. “All 140 crore Indians will be with me in the Garbha Griha. All Ram Bhakts will be with me,” PM Modi said.
