The fallout of the deadly terrorist attack at the Pathankot air Base is already being felt even as officially the operations are still not over.
According to sources, the Air Force will constitute a high-level Court of Enquiry to look at the lapses at the base that led half a dozen terrorists to hold up one of the most sensitive air bases for more than 60 hours.
Instructions have been given from the highest levels of government to the top leadership of the Indian Air Force to identify the lapses and to 'fix responsibility'.
Meanwhile, sources also said that 12 hours before the attack started, the Air Force Station in Charge as well as other commanders were offered central paramilitary security but that was refused.
A Kashmiri terror conglomerate called United Jihad Council has claimed responsibility for the attack. The Pakistan-backed United Jihad Council claimed that the attack was carried out by the Kashmiri terrorists associated with 'Highway Squad'.
However, the government rubbished claims of United Jihad Council taking responsibility for the Pathankot terrorist attack. "This is deflectionary tactics", the sources said.
