BANGALORE: Minister for Law, Urban Development, Parliamentary Affairs and BWSSB S Suresh Kumar inaugurated a new Aadhaar Enrolment Centre and a children’s playground at Shivanagar in Rajajinagar 5th Block on Wednesday. The playground has come up at cost of Rs. 20 lakh. “Children should have play area in their growing years. Else, they will get addicted to video games,” Kumar said while speaking on the occasion. He also added that an acupressure pond in the ground will soon come up. he playground will be open from 5.30 to 9.30am and 4.30 to 8.30pm. The new Aadhaar Enrolment Centre will be open from 8 am to 8 pm. The minister personally checked the newly installed systems and inquired about the enrollment process. “Adhaar is a national project. Every citizen needs an UID card, that is not based on caste or religion,” the minister said. Sandeep Patil from the Centre for e-Governance explained to Kumar the enrollment process. The playground and the enrollment centre are constructed in a manner so as to implement rainwater harvesting (RWH). “The water collected here is passed on to the neighbouring dhobi ghat. We understand the need for RWH,” corporator Manjunath said.
