NAGAPATTINAM: A group of three fishermen belonging to Pudupattinam village near Poompuhar in Nagapattinam district have complained that they were attacked by the Lankan Navy when they were fishing off Kodiakarai coast on Thursday night. According to the affected fishermen - Manikandan and two others, when they were fishing 15 knots South East of Kodiakarai on Thursday night, Sri Lankan Navy personnel arrived there in two fast crafts. The Navy personnel had allegedly threatened them at  knife point and snatched the fish catch. The fishermen, who returned to the shore on Friday morning, lodged a complaint with the fishermen panchayat about the mid-sea attack by Lankan navy. It may be noted that a group of four other fishermen of Arucottuthurai village near Vedaranyam complained that Lankan Navy personnel came in a fast craft on Wednesday night and snatched the mobile phones from them, when they were fishing 20-knots off Kodiakarai coast. Search continuesMeanwhile, fishermen of Vellapallam village near Vedaranyam are continuing their search for the third continuous day on Friday to trace the three fishermen of the village who are missing since September 17.
