More Bird flu deaths despite pledge
A woman died of Bird flu in China even as delegates from more than 100 countries took a pledge in Beijing to eradicate the dreaded virus.

Beijing: Even as delegates from more than 100 countries took a pledge at the Avian Influenza Pledge Conference Meeting in Beijing to eradicate the dreaded Bird flu virus, a woman -- suspected to be infected with the flu -- died in South-western China.

And China is not the only place where people are dying of the flu. Cases of the flu are coming in from other parts of the world too.

In Turkey there are now at least 21 confirmed cases of avian flu spread mainly from poultry to humans.

An eleven-year-old Turkish girl is suspected to be its latest victim even as Turkey continues to kill thousands of birds and disinfect rural parts of the country.

With fears of the flu spreading in neighboring Iraq too, officials are disinfecting vehicles at the Iraq Turkey border.

What's your reaction?
