London: Former South African president Nelson Mandela reportedly wants the disbanded Spice Girls to perform at his 89th birthday party.
Mandela once called the girl band his "heroes" and is hoping they will get back together for at least one performance.
The leader has sent invitations to each of the Spice Girls for the July 28 party, reports mirror.co.uk.
An inside source said, "It would make Nelson's day if the girls performed."
Other celebrities expected to be present at the celebrations include Queen guitarist Brian May, Annie Lennox and Peter Gabriel.
