On Wednesday, rumours were rife that Indira Bhaduri, the mother of Jaya Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan’s mother-in-law, had passed away at the age of 94 in Bhopal. However, these reports turned to be inaccurate. While Indira had been unwell and receiving medical treatment, a spokesperson on behalf of the Bachchan family said that she’s alive and stable. Speculation about Abhishek Bachchan rushing to Bhopal and other family members gathering had fueled false claims.
A statement read, “At this time, Jaya Bachchan and her family have not experienced any loss. Fans are encouraged to remain supportive and to await credible updates rather than engaging with misleading information.”
The statement also requested fans to respect the privacy of the Bachchan family during this time. It added, “The emotional toll on families during trying times is profound, and they should not have to contend with the added burden of false reports.”
Indira Bhaduri is an integral part of the Bhaduri-Bachchan family, known for her quiet presence. She is celebrated by her family, especially during her 90th birthday, which marks a significant gathering for the Bachchans at their ancestral home in Bhopal. According to a report in Times Now, the caretaker of Indira Bhaduri confirmed that the reports of her death were untrue. The caretaker shared that Indira Bhaduri suffered a spine injury and is stable at the moment. “Woh theek hain, unki reed ki haddi mein fracture aaya hai isliye vo hospital mein hain. Vo khana pina bhi kha rahi hain aur baat bhi kar rahi hain (She is stable, she was hospitalised after suffering a fracture in her spine. She is eating and speaking),” the caretaker said, as per the publication.
