Abdul Nasser Madani, however, claims he is being framed and is expected to apply for anticipatory bail soon.

Bangalore: People's Democratic Party leader Abdul Nasser Madani has been chargesheeted in the 2008 Bangalore serial blasts. Madani has been named in the fresh chargesheet along with six accused.

The chargesheet was filed by the Bangalore Police in the serial blast case in which one woman was killed.

Police registered the case against Madani following the interrogation of arrested Lashker-e-Toiba suspects Thadiyantavila Nazir and Shafaz. Nazir was an activist of the now-defunct Islamic Sevak Sangh, which Madani headed before he dissolved the outfit and formed PDP in the 1990s.

Madani, however, claims he is being framed and is expected to apply for anticipatory bail soon.

Madani was an accused in the 1998 Coimbatore blast case, too, but was later let off by the court.

His wife Soofia Madani has also been accused of having links with terrorists.
