BANGALORE: The Lokayukta Special Court, on Monday, directed the Lokayukta police to file the final investigation report on January 21, in connection with the illegal denotification of land case involving former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, Housing Minister V Somanna and two others.The Lokayukta police were directed by the Court to file the report on Monday. But Lokayukta Dy SP Prasanna V Raju submitted a report of the investigation and explained that the police needed more time to investigate. “The process of seeking legal opinion into registration procedures is in progress and information about fabrication of registration documents are being gathered. Hence, we need some more time,” the Dy SP explained to the court.Later, Judge N K Sudheendra Rao extended the deadline till January 21 of 2012 and adjourned the next hearing till the same date.It may be recalled that Ravi Krishna Reddy, a software engineer, had filed a private complaint in the court alleging that Yeddyurappa, when he was the chief minister, had illegally denotified 22 guntas of government land in Nagadevanahalli to an education trust owned by Somanna’s wife Shailaja, in 2009. B S Yeddyurappa is the prime accused in the case, while Shailaja is accused number two, followed by Somanna and D Lingaiah, the owner of the denotified land. Lokayukta sleuths had filed an FIR on November 26 in connection with the land denotification case.
