New Delhi: The Lashkar-e-Taiba bomber Abdul Karim Tunda has been sent to Judicial Custody till September 7 after the Delhi police did not seek his custody for interrogation. The 70-year-old LeT ideologue, was admitted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for special cardiac care on Friday after he complained of chest pain.
Tunda who was arrested on the Indo-Nepal border last Friday, was admitted to Safdurjung hospital on Thursday but keeping in view the specialised care and security concerns, he was shifted to AIIMS and admitted to Intensive Cardiac Care Unit.
A heavy contingent of armed police guard has been placed outside the ICCU unit of the AIIMS where Tunda, who has been giving details about spread of terror group Lashker-e-Taiba in India, is being treated. He was attacked by a group of Hindu activists outside court in Patiala House complex where he was being produced before a Magistrate.
