Kejriwal Stayed In 7-Star Hotel During 2022 Goa Polls, Cost Partly Covered By Delhi Govt: ED To Court
Appearing on behalf of the Enforcement Directorate (ED), ASG Raju informed the court that Arvind Kejriwal stayed in a 7-star hotel named Hyatt during the Goa Assembly elections 2022

A Delhi court on Wednesday heard the bail plea of AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal in connection with the alleged scam in the now-scrapped excise scam and extended his custody till July 3.

Appearing on behalf of the Enforcement Directorate (ED), ASG Raju informed the court that Arvind Kejriwal stayed in a 7-star hotel named Hyatt during the Goa Assembly elections 2022.

The cost of the Delhi chief minister’s stay was covered partly in cash and partly by the admin Department of GNCTD. “It was earlier hushed up but we then discovered that the payment was in cash and the same came through hawala. Charanpreet arranged,” he said.

Additional Solicitor General SV Raju also told the Delhi court that everything in the matter had boiled down to Arvind Kejriwal’s role. He also said, “Further investigation by CBI has revealed his role in the predicate offence. He has not argued that he is not guilty. He has always argued that this statement was not credible.”

“As far as timing is concerned, my friend has not told the court that we have subsequently collected more material. They say after July there is nothing, which is categorically wrong,” he added.

The next court hearing in the case will be held on July 3.

A Delhi court had on June 5 dismissed Kejriwal’s application seeking interim bail on medical grounds in the case.

The judge, however, had directed the Tihar jail authorities to take care of Kejriwal’s medical needs in judicial custody.
