A teenager in Bengaluru’s KR Puram allegedly killed his 40-year-old mother for not cooking breakfast for him on Friday morning and later surrendered before the police.
According to a report by The Times of India, the boy, the 17-year-old boy told police that he engaged in a heated argument with his mother, Netra, after she refused to cook breakfast for him when he was about to leave for college.
He told police as the fight escalated, he hit his mother on the head with an iron road and she fell.
He added that he tried to wake her up thinking she was unconscious, but on realising in Bengaluru’s KR Puram.
Police said the boy’s father was a farmer and had gone out for work, adding that his elder sister was studying abroad.
However, according to neighbours, the boy and his mother fought regularly but things had never gone beyond heated exchanges.
Police said they had taken the boy into custody and began investigating his claims.
