Valencia: Force India Adrian Sutil hasn´t had the best of seasons so far. In the seven races, he has managed to achieve a significant result onmly once. "We have had problems in the first few races. We still need need to go quite far in order to reach where we were in the first half of 2010. Last year, in the first half, we managed top 5 places and were points contenders in all the races. That´s where we want to be," Sutil said in an exclusive interview with ibnlive.com.
Speaking on the eve of qualifying, Sutil said that last year they had a better car in the beginning but it had become difficult in the end.
"Hopefuilly, this year it will be the other way round. I feel after struggling initially we are getting a little bit better," he said.
Before the season started the German had said that the team was targetting a Top 6 in Constructors Championship, something that looks tough to achive from here on. When asked whether he had changed targets, Sutil shot back: "I don´t change my targets. Personally, I had always maintatined I wanted to be in the Top 8 and we are working towards it. I am confident of it."
Speaking about the prospects for the weekend, Sutil remarked he was hoping to make it to Q3 in qualifying. "More importantly though I want to score points on Sunday. I think it´s quite possible here," he remarked.
About how the car felt after practice on the Valencia circuit, Sutil said the team had done their programme with different tyres. "The general balance on soft tyres is pretty good. W need to do a little work and address a few things to make the balance of the car better on both types of tyre compounds," he said.
