Mumbai: On Monday evening, Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and Ronnie Screwvala's UTV Motion Pictures will announce a tie-up and chart out their plans for the coming year.
Even as the two Bollywood biggies are preparing for the big evening rumours within the industry suggest that KJo's association with Yash Raj is over.
So far, Yash Raj would distribute all of Karan Johar's ventures.
However it is believed that something about the business and collections of Dostana has made KJo reconsider his business relationship with Yash Raj.
Dharma Productions has three projects underway. One of them is yet-to-be-titled Rensil D'Silva project starring Kareena Kapoor, Vivek Oberoi and Saif Ali Khan. While the other one is Wake Up Sid starring Ranbir Kapoor and Konkona Sen Sharma.
UTV is said to have bought over both these projects for Rs 60 cr.
The deal for Dharma's third project – the ambitious and much publicised My Name is Khan – has however not been inked at the time of filing this report.
Eros is said to have offered a historic sum of money to buy the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer.
Needless to say Karan Johar will have a lot of answering to do at the press meet this evening since his association with Yash Raj goes a long way back – right to his first movie Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
