Harrisons Malayalam posts Rs 7.3 crore profit

KOCHI: RPG Group-owned Harrisons Malayalam Limited has registered a profit of Rs 7.30 crore during the quarter that ended in December 2011. The company achieved the profit against a loss of Rs 3.7 crore registered in the second quarter. The total income of the company for the third quarter stood at Rs 94.11 crore against Rs 85.36 crore in the second quarter. The growth rate is 10 per cent.“Good rains during August and September have benefited the plantations with production in our gardens during the current quarter registering robust growth as compared to the previous quarter. While increase in tea was 20 per cent, rubber registered a 41 per cent increase,” company authorities said in a press release.
