Oneness Green Project, is an initiative of Oneness, a socio-spiritual organisation (social wing of Amma Bhagavan Seva Samithi). The project involves planting, caring and growing one crore trees across India in 16 states, that will cover Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. Over 500 registered centres of Oneness will have volunteers focus on areas such as village backyards, rural & urban schools, Colleges, canal banks, housing colonies, public places for planting trees. Y Saraswati Rao, chairperson, GLK Durga, principal, students of Andhra Mahila Sabha Arts & Science College for Women, prof Rama Krishna, NSS coordinator; Pranaya ji, president, Sri Amma Bhagavan Youth Seva Samithi and members of the samithi, took part in the tree plantation ceremony at Andhra Mahila Sabha campus near Osmania University campus.Speaking on the occasion chief guest Y Saraswati Rao said, “due to rapid urbanization, road widening and development, we are losing the green cover and planting of trees should be taken up as it is need of the hour and there is a need for collaboration with government on this.” The principal of Andhra Mahila Sabha, GLK Durga, urged upon youth to become worthy citizens and contribute to the country. “There is no overnight solution to the world’s ecological problems, the simplest and the most effective way is to grow trees. Trees not only impact the local environment, they help in regenerating the ecological process,” says Nagaraj, secretary, Sri Amma Bhagavan Youth Seva Samithi.
