KOCHI: Congress leader P T Thomas on Wednesday stated that there was no violation of the provisions under the Constitution in the petition sent to the President and the Chief Justice of India by Chief Whip P C George against the Vigilance Court judge. He also asked V D Satheeshan MLA, who had said that the action was unconstitutional and anti-democratic, to clarify how George’s complaint against a judge was unconstitutional. “Satheeshan should explain on what basis the complaint has become unconstitutional,” he said. Thomas also stated that every citizen had the right to complain if they feel that a judgement was not fair. Pointing out that Satheeshan had all the right to take a stand, he said that the KPCC should look into whether Satheeshan’s comments were against the party’s stand. Thomas alleged that Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan’s fight against corruption was a farce. “Even though there were many allegations of corruption against Achuthanandan’s son, VS only tried to shield him,” he said.
