Jharkhand is setting up E-Integrated Check Posts at six places to boost its resource mobilisation. "Integrated Check Posts are being set up at six places in the state and the departments of Excise, Mines, Commercial Tax and Transport will be connected to the check posts," Chief Secretary R S Sharma said today.
An on-line mechanism across the six check posts would be introduced to know whether a truck has all the necessary documents or not. He said Jharkhand was stuck in the vicious circle vis- -vis resource mobilisation, "which is very weak", and the new system would help increase the resources.
Stating that officials had been sent to other states to study their practices in tax collections in the departments, Sharma claimed that the integrated check posts would put an end to corruption.
Through public private partnership, he said, the state government also decided to build up infrastructure at ITI, polytechnic institutions and in the tourism sector. As part of development initiatives under the President's rule, the government has also decided to fill up vacancies in its departments,
"I will review every fortnight on the recruitment rules and sending notifications to the Jharkhand Public Service Commission or State Staff Selection Commission ... this will help in having man power and capacity building," Sharma said and stressed on utilising state-of-the-art tools for quality work.
"We have decided to give training to our engineers to enhance their competence level so that they use modern technology and ensure prepare better and quick estimates," he said, citing an example on the government s developmental initiatives.
