KOCHI: The Cochin Shipyard Ltd (CSL) on Tuesday launched two offshore support vessels BY 080, an anchor handling tug supply vessel for the Shipping Corporation of India and BY 84, a platform supply vessel for Brage Supplier, Norway.The ships were launched by V Radhakrishnan, Director (Technical), in the presence of Cmde K Subramaniam, Chairman and Managing Director, and Ravikumar Roddam, Director (Finance).BY 080, to be named SCI Urja, is the last of a series of four 120T Bollard Pull Anchor Handling Tug Supply vessels being built for the Shipping Corporation.The vessel, designed by STX Europe, is classified under the rules and regulations of the American Bureau of Shipping under Dual Class with the Indian Register of Shipping.Upon delivery, the vessel will be registered in Mumbai.BY 084 is the last in a series of four platform supply vessels. It is a modern large diesel electric PSV designed to cater to the all-around needs of the offshore oil and gas industry. It is equipped with dynamic positioning grade-II equipment.The yard has currently 34 ships on order."The shipyard posted impressive performance for the fifth year in a row in 201011. The yard achieved a turnover of Rs 1,462 crore in 2010-11 compared to Rs 1,417 crore in the previous year.Also the yard achieved a net profit of Rs 227.53 crore for 2010-11 compared to Rs 223.04 crore for the previous year. At the annual general meeting held on July 14 the company declared a dividend of Rs 16.86 crore for 2010-11," a statement from the CSL said.
