Srinagar: President APJ Abdul Kalam on Saturday said he would prefer to be remembered as a good human being rather than as the President, a great scientist or a great teacher.

He said so in response to a question by a student during an interaction with children at the Raj Bhawan in Srinagar.

Kalam told the children that creativity was an essential element for building a new India of their dreams and that nothing was impossible.

"You are all in the mission of learning. When learning is purposeful, creativity blossoms. When creativity blossoms, thinking emanates. When thinking emanates, knowledge is fully lit. When knowledge is lit, the economy flourishes," he said.

Kalam highlighted various advances made by scientists over the past few centuries including the invention of the aeroplane by the Wright brothers, man's landing on the moon and the recent diversion by NASA of an asteroid that was likely to hit the earth.

"I would like the youth assembled here to take a lesson from these examples and work to make everything possible," he said.

"Human flight is nothing but creativity of the human mind and it undergoes several struggles to achieve excellence," he pointed out.

To a question on time management, he told the children, "You must fix an aim. Work constantly towards the aim. If you love your subject you will develop a deep interest which will enable you to manage your time better. Do not allow any pressure to influence you." Kalam also administered a six-point oath to the students.
