PUDUCHERRY: The Puducherry government employees central federation, on Tuesday, announced that it would hold a convention on February 24 for discussions on the financial crisis that has gripped Puducherry.P Lakshmanasamy, convenor, said the financial crisis had resulted in non-payment of wages to the employees of Puducherry women corporation, cooperative societies, PSUs like PASIC, PAPSCO, Jayprakash Spinning mills in Karaikal and other organisations for several months now. The benefits to government employees including medical reimbursement, house building advances had been temporarily stopped, he told newsmen at a press conference here. Further, the GPF savings were being utilised for payment of salaries and pension. There was delay in payment of gratuity and leave encashment to personnel who were retiring from service.
