BANGALORE: KV Chandrashekhar was unanimously elected as the president of Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) on Tuesday.Chandrashekhar is the second from exhibitors’ segment to get elected unanimously for the KFCC’s president post. Four years ago, Tallam Nanjunda Setty, who owns Abhinay and Bhoomika theatres in the city, had been elected unopposed. Chandrashekhar is the owner of Veeresh theatre in the city.Speaking to the The New Indian Express, Chandrashekhar said that his top priority is to ensure coordination among the three sectors - producers, distributors and exhibitors. “There is a misunderstanding among these sectors. My priority is to clear this misunderstanding and ensure that they work with cooperation,” he said.He said that the need of the hour is to involve all members, especially the executive committee members, in decision making process. “I am confident of taking all the members into confidence before taking any decision related to Kannada film industry,” he said.The election for the executive committee members is slated for September 24. “We will take up issues that need immediate attention during the first meeting of KFCC after the elections,” he said.
