Bhubaneswar,(Orissa): A builder in Bhubaneswar has gifted a plot to three-and-half-year-old marathon kid Budhia Singh.
Budhia's mother, who is working as a maidservant, is happy with his son's achievement.
"I am happy that now I can build a house for my mother, " said Budhia.
However, just one year back Budhia was sold by his mother for Rs 800 due to poverty.
Budhia was staying in slum with his father, who was merely a beggar. It was Budhia's dream to take his mother out of this slum and give her a better life.
"I am proud of my son that he is doing so much for us. Now we have a good place to leave, " said his mother Sukanti Singh.
Budhia is working hard with his coach Biranchi Das to excel in marathon races.
Recently the Orissa state government caught in the controversy over the safety and security of Budhia.
Earlier, the government has imposed restrictions on Budhia to participate in any long distance race in the state or elsewhere without clearance from a team of doctors.
Budhia had already become a celebrity in Orissa after his non-stop 60 km marathon from Puri to Bhubaneshwar in the recent past.
