BSY will be in deeper trouble, says Siddu

Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah said that beleaguered former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa will be in fresh trouble in connection with the Belekeri illegal iron ore export that resulted in the loot of ore worth of Rs 2.5 lakh crore.

He told reporters at JSS Suttur mutt here on Sunday, that the Central Empowered Committee (CEC) has given a report that around 60 lakh tonnes of ore was illegally looted in September 2009.  Siddaramaiah accused Yeddyurappa of illegal iron ore export as he held the Finance, Forest and Mines and Geology portfolios.

“The large quantity of ore could not have been exported with the connivance of the government and officials concerned when the forest officials had seized and dumped it at Belekeri port. Yeddyurappa in all probability will be again arrested once the CBI probing the illegal export case files an FIR,” he said.

He said that the Congress leaders touring drought-hit regions in four teams will submit their reports to Sonia Gandhi after her return from abroad.  Siddaramaiah said that he along with Motamma and others will tour Chikmagalur and Shimoga districts for the next two days.

He described his visit to Suttur Mutt as a courtesy call. On the closed door talks for more than a hour with JSS Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji, he said that it had nothing to do with the recent political developments.  “I was invited by the Mutt for lunch as I had left in a hurry during the last visit,” he added.
