BANGALORE: The Royal Bank of Scotland (RSB), detected a fraud committed by its own employee, who had cheated the company of Rs. 41 lakh in five years duration. The accused B Suresh, was earlier the Head of Liability and Assets Department at RSB’s Richmond Road branch. The complainant Mehta had accused of Suresh withdrawing Rs. 41,42,223 and transferring the amount between September 1, 2005 and May 4, 2010. The fraud came to light when the bank conducted an internal audit and found difference of amount. Further investigation revealed that Suresh had made 20 transactions and had transferred the amount to his personal account, police said. Suresh co-operated during the internal enquiries but soon escaped from office.  After many attempts to reach him, Suresh responded through SMS and confessed he was guilty of his act. A criminal case has been booked against him. The Ashok Nagar police have registered case and are investigating.
