Chinese sportswear company Li-Ning has suspended its sponsorship deal with the Jamaican sprinter.
Kingston, Jamaica: Chinese sportswear company Li-Ning has suspended its sponsorship deal with Asafa Powell following the Jamaican's positive doping test.
The company on Wednesday said it had suspended its deal with Powell pending the outcome of a doping investigation, reports Xinhua.
The announcement comes days after revelations that Powell and fellow Jamaican sprinter Sherone Simpson tested positive for the stimulant oxilofrone at their national championships last month.
Li-Ning started to sponsor the former world 100-metre world record holder in August 2010.
