BANGALORE: Youth Against Corruption (YAC) will organise a convention against corruption at Town Hall on Tuesday at 10.30 am.Sri Sri Ravi Shankar will be blessing the convention along with Dr R Balasubramaniam, a member of Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement.The aim of the convention is to address some questions that need serious contemplation after the country had witnessed a revolution against corruption under the leadership of Anna Hazare. YAC has various demands which include immediate overthrow of the UPA government. They also asked for a separate bill to be introduced in the parliament for the prevention of corruption in the judiciary and private sector as well as a deadline to be set for enactment of Lokpal Bill and legislation to bring back the black money. YAC has urged the central government to include the NGOs, private institutes and foreign investments to be kept under the preview of Lokpal Bill. They also demanded for election reforms to be brought in immediately and introduction of e-Governance for transparency and accountability in the public and government sector. They further made an appeal to the central legislation to abolish the mounting commercialisation of education and introduction of value-added education based on Bharatiya samkruti.YAC through this convention against corruption is seeking serious contemplation over certain issues such as a strong Lokpal to completely eradicate corruption, to re-ignite public sentiment and national culture in tune with public policy. They will also be discussing about 2G Spectrum, Common Wealth Game, IPL, LIC and Adarsh housing scams at the central level as well as land and mining mafia at the state level.YAC is a forum launched at New Delhi on May 12 amidst an enthusiastic gathering of social activists, patriotic youths and students. Many intellectuals, social activists, RTI activists and renowned personalities from various fields have been involved in the forum.
