New Delhi: Akshay Kumar's 'The Shaukeens' is doing fairly well at the box office and has minted more than 10 crore in two days. But the actor somehow feels that comedians are not given the actor's status in Bollywood.
In one of his recent interviews, the actor said, "A comedian never gets the best actor role in any of the award shows, rather they are awarded with the best comedy hero role. So this concept is something that I fail to understand and I believe that comedy as a genre is not at all easy. A comedian can do a serious role but an actor who only does serious roles can never do comedy. Therefore I believe that comedians are not considered to be actors in Bollywood."
Akshay's co-actor in 'The Shaukeens' also agreed to his thoughts and said, "Comic roles are thousand times difficult to do than tragic roles. When an actor does comedy, everything that the audience goes through is physical. And to make an audience do that it is very difficult and I also believe that a comedian should always get the best actors award, rather than best comedy actor award."
