Patna: Around 50 children were arrested in a Bihar town for watching a blue film in a cinema hall on Friday. Three staff of the cinema hall were also arrested for showing the film to the children.
Police raided Motimahal cinema hall in Ara town and arrested the children.
"The children were watching a blue film during the morning show," a police official said.
Sources in Ara, headquarters of Bhojpur district about 60 km from Patna, said police raided the cinema hall after receiving complaints that it was showing blue films.
According to police, there were over 200 people watching the film.
"We will release the children only after complaining to their parents," police said.
In Bihar's semi-urban small towns it has become a lucrative business for cinema hall owners to run blue films instead of regular Hindi films.
"There is a high demand for such films among the youth and students," a member of the Bihar film association said.
