3 held for factory workers murder

PUDUCHERRY: Three persons were arrested in connection with the murder of Somnath Mukherjee (22), a factory worker, at Thondamanatham on Monday.Police said Somnath developed enmity with the accused Sadhu Sardar (32), Kanu Mandal (35) and Pradeep Ghosh (42),also factory workers from West Bengal,when his  cell phone was suspected to have been stolen by one of them. After a drink at Somnath’s house, Somnath charged them with the theft. This led to a quarrel and in a fit of rage they strangulated Somnath with a shirt. Police arrested the three from their residence at Ramanathapuram and remanded them to judicial custody.
