Divya Khossla SLAMS Karan Johar, Accuses Him of Using 'Derogatory Language' Against Her: 'I'm Sorry I...'
Divya Khossla called out Karan Johar for his cryptic post which she appeared to be targetting her.

Bhushan Kumar’s wife, actress Divya Khossla lashed out at Karan Johar after he shared a cryptic note. For the unversed, Karan shared a cryptic note about being silent and ‘fools’ after she claimed Alia Bhatt’s Jigra was a copy of her film Savi and accused him of inflating box office numbers. In a new interview, she accused him of using ‘derogatory language’ in his attempt to ‘shut her down’. She added that she doesn’t need a PR stunt like this to become popular because she believes she is already well-known.

“Today, when I speak up, Mr Karan Johar uses derogatory language to shut me down. Is it right to call a woman a fool for pointing out unethical practices? If this happens to me, what about those new to the industry? No one is a king here, and I won’t be treated like a subject. There are many more derogatory words which were used in their PR articles, and called my taking a stand as a PR stunt. I’m sorry, I don’t need one. I’m already well known,” she told Hindustan Times in an interview.

Divya first made headlines when she claimed that Jigra has copied the storyline of Savi, produced by Alia’s uncle Mukesh Bhatt. The controversy blew up further when Divya visited a theatre playing Jigra and shared a photo of the empty hall. With the photo, Divya accused Karan and Alia of inflating numbers.

Although Alia is yet to react to the allegations, Divya shared in the same interview that she has already spoken to Mukesh Bhatt about the similarities in the stories. However, she said she is not going to drag him into the controversy unnecessarily.

“Yes, this was clearly discussed with him, but I don’t want to bring him into the picture because he’s got family ties and he’s 72. I have a deep and respectful relationship with him. But yes, the topic was discussed with him numerous times while shooting the film,” she said.

Jigra released on October 11. Directed by Vasan Bala, the film revolves around a sister (played by Alia), planning a jail break to help her brother (played by Vedang) escape. Coincidentally, Savi also has a similar skeleton but the sitautions and plot varies.
