216 people win six-gram bangles!

CHENNAI: It took just 60 seconds for 216 people to win a six-gram gold bangle each. Yes, it was a bangle fest at GR Thanga Maligai, in T Nagar on September 19. The grand bangle mela, organised by GRT, evoked a phenomenal response from customers. A contest was held during this 45-day mela in which customers had to stack up gold bangles vertically one over the other in six seconds. To take part in the contest, customers had to produce the bills of items they had purchased. Conducted in all GRT showrooms across South India, over 1 lakh customers participated in this mela.  Over 216 winners were awarded six gram gold bangles (each worth `16, 500).The event saw a few winners who came with their families to receive the bangles from Radhakrishnan, MD, GRT Jewellers. Speaking on the occasion, he said, “We have always wanted to come up with new concepts to invite more customers to buy gold. This year, we added this tallest bangle mela and saw active participation from the customers.”
