Prabhas became a pan-India star following the Baahubali films but his luck seems to have completely run out since then. All his three releases post Baahubali 2: The Conclusion- Saaho, Radhe Shyam and Adiprush, have turned out to be unsuccessful ventures at the box office. In desperate need of a hit to reclaim his position as a bankable leading man, Prabhas is now putting all hopes on the upcoming film Salaar, directed by Prashanth Neel. Expectations are sky-high as the director earlier delivered a massive pan-India hit in the form of KGF: Chapter 2.
Salaar has completed shooting and post-production work is underway at present. What has left many fans scratching their heads though is the decision by the makers to postpone the initial release date of Salaar from September 28 to November 24. Many reasons have been speculated for this sudden postponement and one that is making the most news is that the makers wanted a safe margin of gap between their film and Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, which is also releasing in Telugu. Jawan was released today, September 7.
A source close to the Salaar team reportedly refuted the rumours and attributed the delay in release to Prabhas’ intention to do his own dubbing for the Hindi version of the film. In last year’s smash hit RRR, Ram Charan and Jr NTR dubbed for all the languages, except Malayalam and taking inspiration, Prabhas wants to speak his own Hindi dialogues as well.
As per reports, Prabhas is being given training on his Hindi diction and voice modulation by experts and hence it is taking some time to release the film.
The film unit said that special premieres of the film will be held at over 1,979 locations in the US, a day before its official release in India. It is the first Indian film to have premiers at so many locations across the USA. Bookings are already open there. As the release of Salaar has been postponed, the tickets will be adjusted for the release date.
