- Go to your TikTok account settings to begin the deletion process for your account.
- If you don't want to leave TikTok permanently, you can deactivate your account temporarily.
- If you delete your account, after 30 days it will be deleted permanently along with your data and videos.
Open TikTok on your phone or tablet. You'll find its black and white music note icon on the home screen (iPhone/iPad) or in the app drawer (Android).Tip: Your account will be deactivated for 30 days before being deleted from TikTok's servers. If you decide you want to reactivate your account within that time period, you can sign back in to do so. If you proceed with deleting your account, you will lose access to all of your TikTok content. If you purchased items in the app, you will not be eligible for a refund.
Tap the profile icon Android IG Profile. It's the outline of a person at the bottom-right corner of the screen. If you're not already signed in to your account, you'll be prompted to do so now.
Tap the three-line menu. It's at the top-right corner of the screen.
Tap Settings and privacy. It's the bottom option in the menu.
Tap Account. It's at the top of the menu.
Scroll down and tap Deactivate or delete account. It's at the bottom of the Manage My Account screen. If you created your account with a social media service like Twitter or Facebook, you'll have to tap Verify and Continue to sign in to that service before the confirmation page will appear.
Decide if you want to deactivate or delete. If you only want to leave TikTok temporarily select the deactivate option. The deletion option is if you want to permanently remove your TikTok account.
Tap Delete account permanently button. It's at the bottom of the screen. TikTok will ask you why you're leaving, but you can skip that by pressing Skip in the upper-right corner.
Download your data, if you want. You can download your TikTok data by pressing the Request download button. Mark the tickbox at the bottom of the screen before tapping Continue.
Read the deletion terms and tap Continue. Once you begin the process to delete your TikTok, your account will be deactivated for 30 days in case you decide to come back. After 30 days, your TikTok account and data will be deleted permanently and you won't be able to log back in.
Enter your password and tap Delete account. You will be signed out from TikTok immediately. Now that your account is deactivated, your videos will not be visible to others on the app. If you change your mind, log in before the 30-day period expires to reactivate your account.
