NIRF 2024 Rankings: Anna University Best Among Newly-Added State Public University Category
NIRF 2024 Rankings: Three new categories have been added this year. Anna University has topped the state public universities list followed by Jadavpur University and SPPU.

The Education Ministry has announced the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) across 16 categories this time. The NIRF rankings have been announced in the following domains – Overall, Universities, Colleges, Research Institutions, Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Medical, Dental, Law, Architecture and Planning, Agriculture and Allied Sectors, and Innovation. In addition to the existing 13 categories, the NIRF ranking has been introduced in three more categories this year:

— Open Universities

— Skill Universities

— State Funded Govt Universities.

The Ministry of Education (MoE) has rolled out the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024 rankings today August 12. A total of 10,885 institutions applied for the National Institutional Ranking Framework 2024. It will include Sustainability Rankings from next year, Anil Sahasrabudhe said.

Furthermore, according to the ninth edition of the NIRF report, seven IITs were ranked in the top 10 colleges in the overall category. IIT Madras retained its top ranking in the “overall” category for the sixth time followed by IISc Bangalore and IIT Bombay.

The NIRF Ranking evaluates institutions based on teaching-learning and resources (30 per cent), research and professional practice (30 per cent), graduation outcomes (20 per cent), and outreach and inclusivity (10 per cent), and perception (10 per cent).
