Meet Jagruti Prajapati, Who Secured 10th Rank In Chhattisgarh Class 10 Boards

The Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education recently announced the results of the 10th and 12th board exams on May 9. In the 10th grade, Jagruti Prajapati from Akaltara in Janjgir Champa district emerged as the top scorer in Janjgir Champa district with an impressive 97.16 percent, securing the tenth position statewide. What sets Jagriti apart is her remarkable achievement without any external coaching or tuition; she accomplished this feat solely through self-study at home. Jagruti attributes her success to her mother and teachers, expressing her gratitude towards them.

Jagruti attended Swami Atmanand English Medium School. She comes from a single-parent household, being raised by her mother Geeta Prajapati. Her father Jaiprakash Prajapati was a sports teacher. He unfortunately passed away in 2022. Geeta Prajapati currently works as a class IV employee in the education department. Jagruti’s inclusion in the state’s top ten serves as a meaningful Mother’s Day gift, symbolising her appreciation and acknowledgment of her mother’s support and sacrifices.

Jagruti shared that she dedicated 6-7 hours of daily study at home, with unwavering support from her mother and siblings. As the board exams approached, she intensified her efforts, waking up at 4 in the morning to delve into her studies. Importantly, she emphasised that her academic journey was self-driven, as she did not rely on any external coaching or tuition for guidance. Jagruti adopts a focused approach to her studies, abstaining from the use of mobile phones during her study sessions. She occasionally uses her phone to seek out relevant information pertaining to her studies when necessary. Her academic ambitions are to pursue Biology as a subject, with aspirations to become a doctor in the future.

Last year, the Chhattisgarh board recorded an overall pass percentage of 75.05 per cent in class 10 and 79.96 per cent in Class 12. This year, the pass percentage has increased; 87.04% passing Class 12 and 75.64% passing Class 10.
