Admission In Bihar’s Veer Kunwar Singh University Open; Details Inside
Students who have passed from a recognised Board of Bihar are eligible to apply.

Veer Kunwar Singh University, in Arrah, Bihar was established on October 22, 1992, under the Bihar University Act 1976. It has been named after the national hero and freedom fighter, Kunwar Singh. As per the recent announcement, Veer Kunwar Singh University admissions have begun for the four-year graduation degree for the session 2024-28 in all the colleges affiliated with the University. The application portals were opened and right on the first day, more than one thousand students applied for admission to various colleges, out of which 600 students had already deposited the fees.

All students who have passed from a recognised Board or Bihar board can apply online till May 12. During application, students can state the names of five colleges of their choice. Student Welfare Chairman, Professor Ranvijay Kumar shared that currently 19 constituent and 32 affiliated colleges have been uploaded on the portal for admission in graduation semester one. Students can enrol for these colleges only. The colleges whose affiliation ended last year are not on the portal.

While filling out the admission forms, students are urged to fill them properly without making any errors. Even a small mistake can lead to problems. Before filling out the form, students must keep in mind to select the colleges nearest to them so that they can seek admission there (based on merit). If one chooses a college which is located in a remote area and the student gets selected, then they will be required to seek admission there.

There are fewer colleges available this year. It is thus expected that there will be a higher cut-off in merit. Cut-offs for science and arts subjects will be increased. Officials stated that the affiliation colleges and seats are currently being discussed and more names of colleges are expected to appear on the portal.

Students will have to choose five subjects. For each subject, a fee of Rs 300 will have to be paid online. The Student Welfare Chairman shared that students will have the freedom to choose their major subject. A merit list will be released based on the marks obtained in that subject. Students will then be allowed to enrol for one major subject. For whichever college the name appears, it will be mandatory for the student to get enrolled there. Apart from a Major, students will also have to choose a minor, VAC (Value Addition Course), SEC (Skill Enhancement Course), AEC (Ability Enhancement Course) and Multidisciplinary Course subjects after admission.

This will be the second time that the University will offer admission under the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS), a four-year graduation course. The merit list will be released in the third week of May and classes will commence from July after the enrolment process ends on June 30.
