Virat Kohli touched down at the Kolkata airport on Friday ahead of their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 tie between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Kolkata Knight Riders. The Kolkata-based franchise has been in terrific form this season with four wins from six games, while Royal Challengers Bengaluru have had an underwhelming IPL 2024 campaign, registering just one win in seven games. The two sides have always produced entertaining fixtures and it promises to be more of the same during their upcoming meeting on Sunday, April 21 at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Ahead of the much-awaited game, a video showing Virat Kohli’s exit from the Kolkata Airport has been doing the rounds, with fans getting excited to catch a glimpse of the star batter.

Virat Kohli is having a sensational IPL 2024 campaign, in terms of his performance. Kohli has scored 361 runs in seven innings this season at an average of 72.2 and a strike rate of 147.34. Kohli has already hit one century, with two half-centuries to his name. He is also the current holder of the IPL 2024 Orange Cap.
In the reverse fixture earlier this season, Kolkata Knight Riders had emerged victors in a heavily one-sided affair, winning the game by seven wickets at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Moreover, Kolkata Knight Riders have got the better of Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their last three meetings.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s season has unfolded in an opposite fashion. Royal Challengers Bengaluru have played seven games, but have ended up on the losing side in six of those matches. Their only win came against the Punjab Kings. Since that victory, the Faf du Plessis-led side has lost five games on the trot.
Kolkata Knight Riders, on the other hand, look on course to clinch one of the four playoff spots, unless they experience a terrible decline in form in the remainder of the season. They have won four games out of six so far this season, with two losses. Royal Challengers Bengaluru could smell blood and fancy their chances of scripting a much-needed win, given that the last three games played against Kolkata Knight Riders have resulted in three losses for them.
