Kannada actor and director Vijay Kumar, widely known as Duniya Vijay, is currently immersed in the production of his upcoming film Bheema. The actor recently confirmed that he will be sharing the screen with his eldest daughter, Monica Vijay, marking her debut in the film industry. The untitled project, directed by Jadesh K Hampi, and recognised for his work in Guru Shishyaru, promises to be a significant cinematic venture.
In an interview, Duniya Vijay expressed his excitement about realizing one of his dreams as a father—seeing his daughter, Monica, make her debut in the film. Shedding light on their roles in the movie, he disclosed that it would be a wholesome family drama, and he would be essaying the role of Monica’s father.
Vijay expressed his confidence in Monica’s acting prowess, lauding her as a fine actress. He emphasized that he has been actively involved in honing her craft, mentioning her experience in theatre and familiarity with the nuances of the industry. Adopting a professional stance, Vijay highlighted the importance of discipline on set, underscoring that he will be her co-actor and expects professionalism at all times.
Speaking about his bond with his children, Vijay emphasised the sacredness of their relationship. While being a friend to them, he asserted his role as a responsible father, having shared and supported each child’s dreams. Vijay stated that his children had confided their aspirations in him, and although he can’t shape their destiny, he is dedicated to assisting them in reaching their goals.
Vijay expressed immense joy in witnessing his children lead the lives they desire, highlighting that there is no greater pleasure for a parent. Notably, Monica reportedly underwent training to refine her acting skills at the Anupam Kher Acting School in Mumbai. Duniya Vijay’s younger daughter, Monisha Vijay, is currently in the US and is also contemplating an entry into the film industry.
