Kannada actor Dhruva Sarja, renowned for his impactful roles, has been absent from the silver screen for over two years. His last cinematic venture, Pogaru, hit theatres in February 2021. Although he was slated to collaborate with director Nandakishore on an Uday Mehta-produced film titled Dubaari, featuring Sreeleela alongside Dhruva, the project unfortunately stalled and was eventually shelved. Nevertheless, Uday’s persistence led to a reunion between Dhruva and AP Arjun, the director who initially catapulted him to fame with Addhuri over a decade ago.
A significant cinematic endeavour emerged from this collaboration— the high-budget action-packed movie Martin, co-starring Vaibhavi Shandilya and Anveshi Jain. Written by Dhruva’s uncle, Action King Arjun Sarja, the film was initially slated for release on September 30 of the previous year. But production delays prompted the team to step back from this competition. Despite the delay, the exact release date for Martin remains undisclosed.
The spotlight on Dhruva’s versatile appearances has captured fans’ attention. The actor’s transformation, alternating between distinct looks, has garnered substantial interest. For his movie KD: The Devil, Dhruva sported long hair—a stark contrast from his commando-style haircut in Martin. Adjusting his appearance as per the character’s demands, Dhruva’s dedication to his craft is evident.
Recently, images of Dhruva surfaced online, showcasing his return to the Martin looks. This revelation has triggered speculations among fans, pondering whether the actor is embarking on another cinematic journey. Given that filming for “Martin” had already concluded, the curiosity around this new appearance has given rise to intriguing conjectures.
Dhruva’s commitment to his roles is palpable, evident through his dedication to his physical appearance as well. Prior headlines highlighted his muscular transformation for Martin, followed by his lean look for KD: The Devil. Interestingly, he regained his muscular physique for pending song sequences in Martin.
Addressing a misconception about his character’s name in the film, Dhruva clarified in a previous interview that he is not portraying a character named Martin. Films where a character’s name serves as the title typically centers around the protagonist, but Dhruva emphasized from the outset that he does not assume the role of Martin. Encouraging viewers to experience the film firsthand to uncover the truth, Dhruva’s statement piqued the audience’s curiosity.
