Pet Dog Mauls Six-Week-Old Sleeping Baby To Death In US
The seemingly tame pet husky mauled the child to death in US’ Tennessee.

A pet dog mauled to death a 6-week-old baby sleeping in his crib in the city of Knoxville in the US state of Tennessee. The child named Ezra Mansoor succumbed to his injuries earlier this week on Thursday, six days after the husky attacked him in his Knoxville home.

The parents of the infant said that their pet dog was ‘seemingly tame’ and added that the “completely unprovoked” attack took them by surprise while speaking to US-based news outlet WVLT.

The baby of the first-time parents died after suffering from brain bleed and brain swelling, both life-threatening injuries. The family said they owned the dog for eight years and they also have another dog in the home, but neither of them had a history of aggression.

Mark and Chloe Mansour have decided to help other babies in need by donating his organs. “Being his mom was the biggest honour and the best thing I’ve ever done,” Mansour said, adding that working to save the lives of others has given them peace during the grieving process.

“Really don’t take anything for granted even if it’s a moment you’re annoyed in the moment or frustrated in. All of those little moments are still so amazing,” Chloe Mansoor was quoted as saying by WVLT.

“Pray for all the family really, everyone loved him so much. I know everyone’s grieving right now, we’re grieving right now, and it’s going to be a lifelong process trying to work through this,” the first-time mother further added.

The dog was taken to an animal shelter after the incident as the Knox County Sheriff’s Office investigates the death of the child. The dog’s future, or whether any charges will be levelled, remains unclear.
