Woman Finds Her Wallet 8 Months After Dropping It In The Ocean, Says 'I'm Thankful'
"I'm thankful to have it all back in my hands. I think these contents are my new good luck charms," Marcie Callewaert said.

Marcie Callewaert, a photographer who lives in Clayoquot Sound in Canada, was walking her dogs on the Vancouver Island beach when she made a remarkable discovery. The self-proclaimed “outdoor educator” and “ecologist” was surprised to see her wallet washed up on the beach.

She had lost this wallet eight months ago while she was boating on a sunny day in June. Marcie had tried retrieving her lost wallet by snorkelling and even hired a professional diver to find her wallet but it was to no avail. She was dejected but somehow hoped that the waves would bring the wallet back to the beach and her wish finally came true on February 15.

Marcie shared the news on Instagram and wrote, “Yesterday, while walking the dogs, I found my wallet that I dropped from the boat 8 months ago! I had a diver come look for it, I snorkelled to look for it, and there was nothing to be found. I held out hope that it had stayed nearby and the winter wind and swells would bring it to the beach, and over the past few days, it finally washed up!”

She added, “A lot of people are bringing up the power of manifestation or attraction or even the good karma associated with cleaning our shorelines… either way, I’m thankful to have it all back in my hands! I think these contents are my new good luck charms!”

Marcie noted that her wallet was intact and its contents were safe. She thanked Rains, an outdoor wear brand known for making waterproof products, and wrote, “I’d also love to shoutout Rains for making a product that holds up so well to 8 months in the ocean! It looks like it could have gone another 8 months, no problem!”

In the comments, an Instagram user asked her, “How far away did you drop your wallet and from where it was found?” In response, Marcie wrote, “I dropped it out in the bay where our anchor buoy is… about 100m from shore and maybe 20ft deep? The tide was going out when it dropped so I was a bit worried it just got swept out!”

While talking to CBC News, Marcie recalled the moment when she spotted her lost wallet and said, “I had a feeling it was going to happen all along, but I have been looking for eight months. For it to finally happen was indescribable.”
