When The Lion Turned Spectator For A Football Match

It is not every day that you see a wild animal being a spectator of live sports, do you? As unexpected as it may sound, there are still rare occasions when animals and humans do meet in everyday situations, and the sight is worth watching. One such video recently caught the internet’s attention. Shared on the Instagram page of Hunting and Wildlife Breeding, the video shows a group of people playing football, pretty much unaware of the presence of a wild animal in the audience.

As the video plays, it shows a few men playing football in the distance. Later, as the camera pans to the side of the road, one can spot a lion sitting on the road and watching the game with keen interest. The wild cat seemed quite calm and relaxed as he watched the match from a safe distance. Also, it didn’t seem like he was planning an attack or eyeing a target.

“Playing Soccer with a Lion as a fan,” the video’s caption read. While the Instagram page is known for sharing several videos from South Africa, it is yet to be known about the location of this particular video.

In the meantime, social media users also shared their reactions to the video. A user wrote, “Such a great game of football with just one spectator,” while another one wrote, “Lionel Messi is watching the kids.”

“Oh no this is normal. They first ensure the lions are fed and then they start their game lol,” a third user commented, while another one hilariously wrote, “In this case, the lion is the referee, he will be the decision-maker.”

While the video was shared around a year ago, it still continues to resurface on the internet, thanks to the rare and sporty encounter between humans and the wild.

Earlier, another video went viral, showing an astonishing interaction between a human and a lion. Shared by African Animal, an Instagram page, the video shows how a man and a lion interact with each other in a very unusual manner. Later, the muscular wild cat goes on to charge toward the man and leaps on him excitedly to give him a big hug.

The man also remained fearless, embracing the lion with tenderness and bravery. Notably, such incidents clearly emphasise the importance of ethical conservation, which would allow both humans and animals to coexist.
