When it comes to booking accommodation for holidays, many of us think of checking out rental properties like Airbnb. The vacation rental company offers a range of apartments, homestays and other properties across the world. Recently YouTuber Ryan Trahan made a video about staying in the four most unique Airbnbs around the world.
Back in 2023, Airbnb introduced a new category of properties named ‘OMG’. In this category, it listed some of the most distinctive and quirky accommodations around the world. Ryan picked up four places from this list and documented his stay. In the video, Ryan went to the Netherlands, UK, Slovenia and Norway to check out the much-hyped properties.
The first stop in Ryan’s “OMG" Airbnb list was the “Bossche Kraan", which is a former harbour crane that was converted into a room. This was located in Amsterdam, Netherlands. What made this property truly special is that one could rotate the crane room up to 230 degrees and get a panorama view of the place. As per Airbnb, this place is listed for over Rs 16,000 per night.
The next stop in the itinerary was a property in Wales that was shaped like a UFO. This place, named “The UFO" is located in Pembrokeshire in south-west of Wales. It is priced at roughly Rs 21,000.
After Wales, Ryan went to Slovenia and spent a day at a luxurious chalet that comes with an inbuilt sauna. This cozy place, surrounded by snowy mountains is located in Stahovica. To stay in this chalet one has to shell Rs 19,514 per night.
The final destination on Ryan’s list was the “Birdbox Treehouse" in Gaular, Norway. This futuristic-looking property is located near a ski resort. Ryan was escorted to the treehouse in the middle of the night by his host, Seiv. The treehouse is priced at Rs 23,642 per day.
Ryan’s video, simply titled ‘I Stayed in “OMG!" Airbnbs has gathered over 12 million views since it was posted on March 2. In the comments many people shared their views on which property they liked best. Commenting on the video, a YouTube user wrote, “I live in Tenby, which is the town you visited in the UFO segment. I genuinely never thought you would come to our country, let alone my town, thank you for showing the beauty of Wales!"
Another person wrote, “The chalet in Slovenia is definitely cozy worth staying in, has a lot of food that you can cook ( I know not that all free) but it was good to see in an airbnb because some don’t do that, either you do grocery or order food on a regular airbnb, and definitely the last one the bird box is has absolutely beautiful view."
