A viral video shows the making of bread in a factory, all without wearing gloves.

Breads are an important part of the Indian culinary landscape, offering a diverse breakfast option in many regions. From classic bread and butter to delectable French toast, this delicacy never fails to satisfy the taste buds of foodies. But have you ever come across a behind-the-scenes (BTS)’ video of how these classic breads are made? After watching the preparation of pizza, momos, potato chips, and cakes, among other things, on social media, a video of bread-making in a factory is taking social media by storm.

A viral video gives a tour of a bread-making factory located in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur. The clip shows the unhygienic way to prepare countless packets of bread in a factory, and we have certainly lost our appetite.

Shared with the caption, ‘Bread making in a factory,’ the viral video unfolds to show a worker emptying a couple of bags of all-purpose flour (Maida) into a huge dough mixer. To keep the dough from sticking to the machine, the worker adds a decent amount of oil to it. Once the dough is prepared, it is divided into small portions and weighed before being placed inside tin moulds. These moulds are then placed inside a large oven and baked well. After the baking process, a worker is seen placing the baked bread on a large mat to cool down. Post this; another worker puts the bread into a machine to cut it into equal slices. After being sliced, another worker wraps them in transparent packets, all without wearing gloves.

Since being posted, the clip has irked social media users, with many expressing concerns over hygiene. An Instagram user commented, “He is placing the bread where he is standing… Yuck.” “Hygiene committed suicide, especially when he put the baked bread on the green mat where he had already set foot,” added another. Showing displeasure over the break-making process, an individual remarked, “Purely unhygienic.”

Prior to this, another video went viral showing the making of countless boxes of happiness, i.e., pizzas, in a factory left many feeling disgusted. Although the complete pizza-making process was done keeping in mind the hygiene factor, the video wasn’t successful in impressing pizza lovers on social media with many regarding the pizzas as ‘trash’.
