'Six Pack Chef' Makes World Record For Most Tomatoes Cut In One Minute While Blindfolded

Most of us can’t even slice a tomato into equal bits but Canadian chef Wallace Wong, popularly known as the ‘Six Pack Chef’ has managed to cut nine tomatoes in equal parts while being blindfolded. With this, he earned a Guinness World Record for “most tomatoes cut in one minute while blindfolded.” The chef achieved this feat on June 12 in London. His record attempt was closely monitored by an adjudicator. By the end of one minute, the adjudicator announced that she had to disqualify four tomatoes as they were unevenly cut.

As per the Guinness World Records guidelines, the criteria to make this record is that all tomatoes must be cut into eight parts of equal size. However, despite four tomatoes being disqualified, Wallace Wong managed to have the record in his name. A video of his record attempt was posted on Instagram by the Guinness World Record.

Even though the clip has over 48,000 likes, in the comments many people undermined the chef’s skills. An Instagram user wrote, “Local chefs in India are way faster and will chop more finer than this.” Another person said, “Even my mother does better than this.” Someone else claimed, “Hey Guinness you don’t need to upload every day to keep your thing special. I know 10 shawarma chefs that do it in 1/4 of the time.”

This is not the only world record made by Wallace Wong. He got the world record title for, “Most slices of cucumbers sliced while blindfolded in 30 seconds” when he sliced 166 cucumbers in 30 seconds. He made this record on the set of Lo Show Dei Record in Milan, Italy on February 6, 2023.

Similarly, he has the record for “Most slices of carrots sliced while blindfolded in 30 seconds”. He cut 121 carrots in 30 seconds on the set of Canada’s Got Talent on October 29, 2023. His most recent record is “Most slices of garlic sliced while blindfolded in 30 seconds” after he cut 127 garlics.

It will be interesting to see what more speed-cutting records he attempts in future. Wallace Wong has over 1.8 million followers on TikTok. He amassed this audience by showing off his superfast and accurate chopping skills. His washboard abs earned him the nickname ‘Six Pack Chef’.
